The Zaccho Youth Company invites enthusiastic young people ages 9-18 to come be a part of this exciting ensemble. Potential performance opportunities in the fall include being a part of Zaccho Dance Theatre’s The View from Here and African-American Shakespeare Company’s production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Proper attire for the audition:
- Wear dance clothes to the audition. Pants should have elastic or drawstring waist bands (no buttons, zippers or belts) and tops should cover your midriff and be tucked into your pants.
- Long hair MUST be pulled back. A pre-professional aerial dance company is seeking youth between the ages of 9-19 years old.

Commitment:
- Must be available on Mondays and Wednesdays between 4:30PM and 7:30PM for training and rehearsals. Additional rehearsals may be added depending on ZYC’s performance schedule.
- Rehearsal and training begins on Wednesday, September 6, 2017.

Zaccho Youth Company (ZYC) presents dances that integrate aerial flight and suspension as a way of expanding the dancers spatial and dynamic range. Under the direction of Joanna Haigood, the company members collaborate in the creative process by contributing important conceptual and choreographic material. Since its inception in 2002, ZYC has performed at various venues and festivals throughout the Bay Area. Zaccho Youth Company is part of a larger Youth Performing Arts program conducted by Zaccho Dance Theatre in Bayview Hunters Point.
