A Staged Reading and Talkback
Join us for a special staged reading of SistahFriend, the debut play by Phaedra Tillery-Boughton. This dramatic comedy offers a heartfelt and honest exploration of Black womanhood through the lens of three best friends in their 40s, as they navigate life’s unexpected twists—career challenges, relationship struggles, and personal growth.
With humor, heart, and authenticity, SistahFriend dives into themes of friendship, sexuality, faith, identity, and joy, shedding light on the often-overlooked emotional journeys and deep bonds shared between Black women.
This is Phaedra’s first-ever play, and her bold, refreshing voice brings a vibrant new energy to the stage.
Enjoy an evening of powerful storytelling, light food and drinks, and stay after the reading for a talk-back session with the playwright and cast. Come ready to laugh, reflect, and celebrate the strength of sistahood.
