Moving On Center - School for Participatory Arts & Somatic Research
Moving on Center - School for Participatory Arts and Somatic Research is a unique and pioneering institution in the field of Somatics. Founded in 1994, MOC's training programs integrate multiple somatic systems with performing and healing arts toward social change. The school offers an exciting opportunity to integrate the desire for personal growth with the development of meaningful professional skills applicable to fields such as performing arts, education, health and social change.

Through bridging the healing and performing arts for social change, our mission is to support, develop and inspire embodied community leaders, artists and activists and to model new educational values and perspectives.

FULL PROGRAM: The Participatory Arts and Somatic Research

The entire Participatory Arts and Somatic Research Certification Program consists of three one month module’s: Somatic Education, The Socially Conscious Body and The Improvisational Mind. It is an intensive educational program dedicated to integrating performance expression and somatic research with application in the fields of health, education, social change and the arts. The curriculum includes the study of somatics, body sciences, process arts and performance disciplines. Combining creative engagement and practical skills, MOC studies are integrated through homework, seminars, teaching projects, social change projects and performances.

This certification provides pre-requisites required for the professional Somatic Movement Therapy Training (SMTT) taught by MOC co-founder Martha Eddy (N.Y.)

At this time the only available module is SOMATIC EDUCATION. (see below).

Each module can be produced individually. MOC encourages students to attend the full program when available for deeper integration and understanding of the material.
