CDAA Spring Season 2020

We are back with our Spring Session! Classes begin January 6th! Learn various techniques of aerial dance with our experienced teaching artists and staff. All classes will finish the season with our annual CDAA Spring Show!

MONDAY | Contemporary Dance Technique
4:30 - 6pm - Ages 8 - 15

In this class, students will learn the fundamentals of contemporary dance technique. Students will explore the use of weight and momentum, alignment, musicality and the joy of moving through space. This class is excellent for aerialists who are looking to enhance their performance quality on any apparatus! The Winter / Spring Session focuses on utilizing newly learned skills for the creation of choreography that will be presented at our annual Spring Performance.


TUESDAY | Beginning Tissu
4:30 - 5:55pm - Ages 7 - 13

This is an introduction to the vertical apparatus Aerial Tissu, or Fabric. Students will learn to fuse Aerial Slings and vertically hanging tissu to climb, invert and to explore the apparatus as a tool for self-expression. The Winter / Spring Session focuses on utilizing newly learned skills for the creation of choreography that will be presented at our annual Spring Performance. *No aerial experience necessary


TUESDAY | Intermediate Tissu
6pm - 7:30pm - Ages 9 - 15

This class is designed for the more advanced aerial student. Using sling, rope and fabric techniques, students will perfect their climbing and inversion techniques and their ability to build new movement vocabularies for creation. The Winter / Spring Session focuses on incorporating new skills into unique choreography to be presented in our annual Spring Performance. * Students should have at least a year of aerial fabric or rope experience and be able to invert in the air and climb to the top of the fabric with ease.


WEDNESDAY | Advanced Aerial Dance
4:30pm - 6pm - Ages 10 - 15

This class is designed for previously enrolled advanced aerial students and members of the Zaccho Youth Company. This Winter / Spring Session, company members will be given a theme for creating new and unique choreography to be presented at the end of the semester in our annual Spring Performance. *Specialized Class for Zaccho Youth Company


THURSDAY | Intermediate Aerial Dance
4:30pm - 5:55pm - Ages 7 - 10

This year’s Intermediate Aerial Dance class focuses on technique, tricks and in-flight choreography upon aerial ladders and trapezes.The Winter / Spring Session is dedicated to the creation of new and unique choreography to be presented in our annual Spring Performance. *Prerequisite: One year of previous aerial experience


THURSDAY | Intermediate / Advanced Aerial Dance
6pm - 7:30pm - Ages 11 - 16

This year’s Intermediate / Advanced Aerial Dance class focuses on technique, tricks and in-flight choreography upon aerial ladders and trapezes. The Winter / Spring Session is dedicated to the creation of new and unique choreography to be presented in our annual Spring Performance. *Prerequisite: Two years of previous aerial experience or teacher approval


FRIDAY | Beginning Aerial Dance 1
4:30pm - 6pm - Ages 7 - 10

Beginning Aerial Dance combines the athleticism of aerial acrobatics with the lyricism and poetics of dance on low flying apparatus. Students will learn technique that will help them build the confidence, strength and flexibility needed to have a good time hanging upside down. In the Winter / Spring Session, students will utilize their new skills for the creation of choreography to be presented in our annual Spring Performance. * No aerial experience necessary.

All students who register for the full semester have to pay a $35 fee to participate in the CDAA Spring Show. If you would not like to participate in the show or have any other issues, please email cdaa@zaccho.org.

We will not be holding classes on the following dates:
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (January 20th)
President's Day (February 17th)
Spring Break (March 30th -April 3rd)

We also have the option of purchasing classes through a payment plan. For more information or to set up a plan, please email cdaa@zaccho.org.

If you purchase a drop-in class and do not attend, we cannot refund or transfer purchase to another class.
